Sirloin tip steak is a versatile, lean cut that's great as a stand alone meal or the basis for a steak salad, tacos or fajitas. When prepared correctly this steak eats far above its price point, compairing to much more expensive steaks.
What is sirloin tip steak:
Despite the name, the sirloin tip steak is taken from the round primal cut (go figure), but that doesn’t mean it isn’t packed with flavor at a great value. A boneless, lean cut, it’s best when cooked low and slow to lock in the juicy flavor.
Like all the best lean cuts, the sirloin to steak is great when marinated for a few hours in your favorite flavors. The versatile cut of meat “takes” the marinade well, meaning you have control over the flavor. It’s a great addition to stir fry with pepper and onions. It also works well for recipes that call for sauces or a gravy.
Grilling a grass fed sirloin tip steak:
Grilling a sirloin tip steak is easy. Season steak well then cook over a medium flame for 2-4 minutes per side. As with all grass fed beef it is important to not cook past a medium level of doneness or the result will be a tough steak.
